Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK each year. These are public funds that we manage. It is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we think innovatively and use the latest technology to simplify and improve, develop and deliver IT services for the Swedish social insurance system. The IT department of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency is now looking for a unit manager who wants to help lead our development activities into the future.
IT development, digital services, leadership
As a unit manager, you, along with your managerial colleagues, are responsible for managing and developing IT support for services within our management group's area. You and your colleagues work closely together to ensure that the area has the right competence to meet its commitments and that daily deliveries are carried out as agreed.
You are a natural leader with a genuine interest in the interaction between people and technology and in creating good user experiences for digital services. You place great emphasis on ensuring that good insights into both customer and operational needs are the starting point for creating services that streamline and provide good service. You play a key role where your most important goal is to enable your employees to drive effective service development that simplifies everyday life for citizens with the right competence and great commitment.
As a manager at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, you work according to the agency's mandate from the government. You are responsible for ensuring that your operations are legally secure and efficient and characterized by good service. You lead the operations from a holistic perspective and with respect for decisions made. Through dialogue about the purpose, goals, and strategies of the operations, you create conditions for your employees to be able and willing to take significant responsibility for the team's results and their own development. In the role of unit manager, you have personnel responsibility and the ultimate responsibility for results and follow-up for the teams in the unit.
Your commitment to leadership is strong, and the public value base permeates your work. By balancing short-term demands for results with a long-term sustainable operation, you offer your employees a health-promoting work environment. You have a good ability to adapt your leadership based on what the situation and assignment require.
As a unit manager, you will be part of the area's management group and contribute with your competence and commitment to achieving the goals of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, reporting to the area manager. Your unit will eventually consist of about 20 employees primarily working with system development. You are a good communicator at both the individual and group level and represent the Swedish Social Insurance Agency in external collaborations. As a unit manager, you handle confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a high security awareness.

We are looking for someone who
- has an academic degree from a university or equivalent experience/qualifications
- has experience in IT development operations
- has experience in agile system development
- has good leadership skills
- is proactive, goal-oriented, and results-driven
- can create conditions for engagement, learning, and continuous improvements based on operational goals
- has good self-awareness and is stable as a person
- has good organizational understanding and can translate this into operations
- collaborates and cooperates effectively with others
- has good communication skills.
It is a merit if you

The position is permanent full-time with a start date to be agreed upon. Travel is included in the position. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment. Swedish citizenship is required for this position.
